In March 2023, The University of Kansas Cancer Center unveiled a new iteration of “Bench to Bedside,” transforming its award-winning video series into a weekly podcast. Bench to Bedside is hosted by cancer center vice chancellor and director, Roy Jensen, MD, and features conversations with the best and brightest minds in cancer research and care. Discussions focus on the latest research news, exciting updates from the cancer center, discussions with oncology leaders from across the globe, as well as personal stories and testimonies from people with cancer, caregivers and research advocates.

Formerly a Facebook Live video series, Bench to Bedside aired for nine seasons as a live, online video series prior to transitioning to a podcast-only format. As a podcast, Bench to Bedside enables the cancer center to engage with communities and discuss issues within its catchment area, while also giving listeners access to experts who are changing the way we approach cancer. The conversational interview format invites listeners from across our large, predominantly rural catchment area, to learn more about the individuals behind the research, featuring stories and advice from our scientists, physicians and staff.
