A new feature of The University of Kansas Cancer Center’s mobile application, the KUCC Clinical Trial Finder, makes it easier for patients to find the right clinical trial.

KUCC Clinical Trial Finder was created by the cancer center in 2020 and helps individuals identify clinical trials offered at the cancer center and quickly communicate with the cancer center's clinical trials team. Before the patient-friendly addition, the app was targeted for use by referring physicians. Now, individuals have the option to search trials focused on treatment, prevention, cancer screening or quality-of-life/survivorship. Patients can submit an email inquiry directly through the app, as well as learn about the cancer center’s latest research efforts.

“Anyone with a cancer diagnosis may want to consider a clinical trial. With this new feature, patients are empowered to look for clinical trials that may be a good fit for them,” said Tara Lin, MD, medical director of the cancer center’s Clinical Trials Office. “We hope this app spurs conversations about clinical trials between patients and their healthcare provider.”

How to download the app

The app is available for iOS and Android users. To download, go to the App Store or Google Play Store and search for "KUCC Clinical Trial Finder." From there, download the app to your personal device.
