Cancer Resources

No matter where you are along your cancer journey, many resources are available. Don't hesitate to reach out to your care team for information, support and assistance. And remember that your care team is one of the most important resources you have. Be sure to ask them questions and let them know when you need support.

The following are other resources you may find helpful.

General cancer resources

American Cancer Society: The Cancer Survivors Network national online community of and for cancer survivors

Bloch Cancer Hot Line: A program of the RA Bloch Cancer Foundation for people with cancer and their families. Call toll-free to speak with a survivor of your cancer type.

Cancer Action: A community-based nonprofit agency offering a comprehensive array of programs and services addressing the physical, social, emotional, financial and spiritual needs of people with cancer, their family and friends.

Cancer Survival Toolbox®: A free audio program designed to help cancer survivors and caregivers develop practical skills to deal with the diagnosis, treatment and challenges of cancer.

Gilda's Club Kansas City: An affiliate of the Cancer Support Community, dedicated to providing, at no cost to members, a comprehensive and professional program of emotional support and education designed to enhance the mind, body and spirit of people whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

Turning Point: Providing support and services that address the psychological, social, emotional and physical needs that accompany a serious or chronic illness. Turning Point is part of The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City.

The Jennifer Ireland Foundation: Honoring Jennifer’s life and her courageous fight with colon cancer by providing financial grants to cancer patients and their families.

Back in the Swing: A national nonprofit dedicated to improving and protecting women's health after breast cancer.

Andrew J. Somora Foundation: Helping families cope with the financial burden of a colon cancer diagnosis and spreading awareness of symptoms and the importance of early detection.
